CIBO celebrates the social, cultural, and agricultural importance of chardonnay wine across the world. While the taste is influenced by the process winemakers go through for production, it also depends on one key ingredient, the soil.
Celebrate Soil Health on World Chardonnay Day!
At CIBO, we are proud to bring attention to the agronomy behind wine production. Beneath every grape is a plot of soil that helped to nurture and grow the fruit. This year, we hope to celebrate the importance of soil at vineyards around the globe.

Watch Jim and Eliza Scherrer at their chicken coop celebrate World Chardonnay Day with a bottle of their favorite Columbia River Valley, Chateau St. Michele.
Check out the storied Columbia River Valley's rise into viticulture. Allen Shoup, president of Washington State's largest winery Chateau Ste. Michelle, understood the importance of obtaining appellation status for Washington State to grow the reputation of the vineyards. He hired Drs. Wade Wolfe and Walter Clore to petition the federal government for appellation status, a request that was granted in 1984.

It’s #WorldChardonnayDay so let’s share a wonderful wine and cheese pairing.
I’ve had this bottle of Blason de Bourgogne Mâcon-Villages 2016 in the “cellar” for a while, then I saw fellow wine and cheese enthusiast @mouseandgrape post about pairing it with comté!
Comté AOP is a semi-hard French cheese made from unpasteurised cows’ milk. It’s centre was sweet and fruity while towards the rind was rich and nutty.
Happy World Chardonnay Day!
Celebrating with the delicious Hattingley Valley Blanc de Blancs 2013 served perfectly (of course) in Riedel Winewings Champagne Glasses 🍷
It's world Chardonnay day. I'm a lover of Chardonnay in its many forms, and we do make some wonderful expressions here in England.

It’s World Chardonnay Day & what a wonderful grape it is to celebrate! Grateful for our 26 year old Chardonnay vines that are some of the oldest planted in England. Ridgeview & so many of our friends in the English wine industry have proven that Southern England is a fantastic cool climate, perfect for producing Chardonnay for the foundation of classic method sparkling wine.
